When I mentioned in my bio I read everything — I did mean everything!

So I recently picked up When Dimple Met Rishi, a young adult romantic comedy thoroughly enjoyed it.

Instagram: Rear with Chai

A story revolving around two Indian- Americans who are fighting their own battles as they transition from high school to college plus the concept of arranged marriage that their parents are trying to “ set “ up for them. Being a techie myself I love Dimples passion for web development and could relate to the personality! At the same time I could also relate to Rishi’s inner battle between embracing his artistic talent and inner dream of being a cartoon artist versus having the “perfect” money-making career an Indian child is expected to have.

All of this set amidst a cool summer program at Stanford University
(right here in California), lovable characters, relatable situations, some good family values, and an adorable romance

I also want to dedicate a moment to rave about the cover- Such an encompassing smile and the bright orange colors just take you right in, plus the fading henna! If you know, you know!

This is Sandhya Menon’s debut novel and I would like to give her accolades for this light-hearted, page-turning, engaging, and adorable love story! I for one need and want to read books like these during these particularly testing times, where I can finish a book with a smile on my face. I recommend it and I am looking forward to reading her other books soon! They are in my ‘to be read’ pile as shown in my last post.

This book is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars for me.
